2020 Audi RS5 unveiled, can do 0-100kmph in 3.9 seconds
Audi has taken the wraps off the 2020 edition of its performance-oriented car, the RS5. The new variant, which is available in both Coupe and Sportback forms, comes with several styling as well as interior updates. However, mechanically, it remains same as the outgoing model. Notably, the car packs a powerful twin-turbo V6 engine and can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 3.9 seconds.
2020 Audi RS5: At a glance
The 2020 Audi RS5 comes with a more aggressive and sportier look as compared to the outgoing model. The new car features a bigger grille with honeycomb patterns, sloping roof design, and a reshaped rear diffuser. The car runs on 20-inch alloy wheels and houses dual exhausts, indicator-mounted ORVMs, LED headlamps with DRLs, and new LED taillights.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the 2020 Audi RS5 features a premium five-seater cabin with ventilated seats wrapped in leather, chrome accents on the dashboard, and RS badging on the three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The car also houses an updated Audi's virtual cockpit driver's display and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with MMI acoustic response technology. Besides that, it retains all the safety features of the outgoing model.
A look at the powertrain
The 2020 Audi RS5 draws power from a 2.9-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine which comes mated to RS-specific 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox and sends power to all the wheels. The car is capable of producing 450bhp of maximum power and 600Nm of peak torque. Moreover, it promises a top-speed of 280kmph and can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.9 seconds.
Will it come to India?
The 2020 RS5 will reportedly go on sale in European markets soon. There is no word on its India availability yet. However, considering that the company sells the RS5 in India, we expect the facelifted model to hit our shores in the near future.
