2019 Volkswagen Polo launched, starts at Rs. 5.82 lakh
Volkswagen has launched 2019 Polo facelift in India at a starting price of Rs. 5.82 lakh. The facelifted model borrows most of its design elements from the GTI variant and sports a new grille with honeycomb pattern and refreshed front as well as rear bumpers. However, it is still available with the same BS4-compliant engine that we have seen on several iterations of hatchback.
Volkswagen Polo facelift: At a glance
The Volkswagen Polo facelift comes with a compact look featuring a cascading grille with honeycomb patterns, revised front as well as rear bumpers, and new side skirts. For lighting, the hatchback houses dual-beam projector headlamps, fog lamps, electronically adjustable indicator-mounted ORVMs, and taillights. Moreover, it has a wheelbase of 2,470mm and it runs on 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the facelifted Polo sports a five-seater cabin with fabric upholstery, rear AC vents, cooled glovebox, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. As for electronic features, it gets a touchscreen infotainment panel with App Connect support and voice command. Moreover, it also gets an auto-dimming IRVM which reduces the glare from vehicles trailing behind.
Power and performance
The 2019 Volkswagen Polo is offered in a 1.0-liter petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel engine options. The former is capable of producing 75PS of power, while the latter churns out 90PS. There is also a Polo GT variant which is available with 1.2-liter petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel engines. The petrol unit here makes 105PS power, while the diesel mill produces 110PS.
Volkswagen Polo facelift: On the road
On the safety front, the Volkswagen Polo facelift comes equipped with disc brakes on the front, drum brakes on the rear, along with ABS to avoid skidding on the road. It also gets dual front airbags, rear parking sensor, and engine immobilizer for anti-theft provisions. Further, the cabin gets seat-belt reminder system, high speed alerts, and child safety locks.

In India, the Volkswagen Polo facelift starts at Rs. 5.82 lakh and goes upto Rs. 9.88 lakh. At this price point, it goes up against rivals such as Toyota Glanza, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, and the recently launched Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS.
