2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 launched at Rs. 1 lakh
Japanese automaker Suzuki Motorcycle has launched the 2019 Gixxer 155 in India at Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Gixxer sports a naked look, and has gotten some design upgrades in the form of new LED headlights, taillights, and a slightly reduced weight. However, it is mechanically the same as its fully-faired sibling, the Gixxer SF. Here is our roundup.
Let's take a look at the new Gixxer
The Gixxer 155 features a naked body and shares most of its design components like fuel tank, alloy wheels, and split seats with the Gixxer SF. However, it is 6kg lighter than the fully faired Gixxer and houses an all-new instrument panel along with the new LED headlights and taillamps. Moreover, the motorcycle is available in one monotone and two dual-tone color options.
Power and performance
The naked Gixxer 155 is fueled by a 154.9cc air-cooled 4-Stroke SOHC engine which is capable of producing 14.8PS of power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. Further, it is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and promises a top speed of 115kmph and a mileage of 64kmpl.
2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155: On the road
On the safety front, the 2019 Gixxer 155 comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with the single-channel ABS to avoid accidents due to skidding. To handle suspension duties, the motorcycle houses telescopic forks on the front and a swing arm monoshock suspension on the rear.
And, what about pricing?
As for the pocket pinch, the new Gixxer 155 is available at a price of Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. At this price point, the motorcycle will lock horns with rivals like Yamaha FZ-FI, TVS Apache RTR 160, and the Honda CB Hornet 160R.
