This Hyundai sedan comes loaded with connected car features
Hyundai is all set to launch the 2019 Elantra in India on October 3. In the latest update, South Korean automaker has revealed the features and specifications of the upcoming car. The premium sedan will pack a BS6-compliant petrol engine and will come with Hyundai's Blue Link connected car technology, which we have seen on the recently launched Hyundai Venue. Here's more.
2019 Hyundai Elantra: At a glance
The 2019 Elantra gets a bunch of design updates over the current model. It sports revamped front as well as rear bumpers, single-piece cascading grille, and a redesigned tailgate with 3D 'Elantra' branding. The sedan features triangular LED headlamps with DRLs, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and sharp-looking LED taillights. Further, the facelifted model has a ground clearance of 167mm and a wheelbase of 2,700mm.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the five-seater 2019 Elantra sports a blacked-out cabin with leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, and a new power steering wheel. As for electronic features, it houses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with Blue Link connected car technology. Moreover, it offers a couple of handy features such as wireless charging, keyless ignition, and climate control.
Here's a look at the connected features
Interestingly, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra comes with Blue Link technology which offers upto 34 connected car features, out of which 10 have been exclusively developed for India. The connectivity features on the car include auto crash notification, panic notification, SOS/emergency assistance, live car tracking, and geo-fencing. Further, the system is able to track driving behavior and comes with AI-enabled voice recognition feature as well.
Power and performance
The 2019 Hyundai Elantra will be powered by a BS6-compliant petrol-based engine but the company has not revealed the engine's capacity and power figures as of now. However, according to some reports, the car is expected to house a 2.0-liter unit which produces 152PS of maximum power and 192Nm of peak torque.
Finally, what will be the pricing?
There is no word about 2019 Hyundai Elantra's pricing as of now. However, going by the specs, we expect it to fall under Rs. 14-19 lakh price bracket. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Honda Civic and Skoda Octavia.
