2019 Audi A6 to hit Indian roads in September
German automaker Audi is all set to launch the 2019 Audi A6 in India sometime around next month. The premium luxury sedan has a slightly sporty look and it comes loaded with lots of new-age features including Audi's virtual cockpit and 37 driver assistance systems. Considering the upgrades, we expect the 2019 A6 model to be more expensive than the outgoing variant. Here's more.
Let's take a look at the Audi A6
The all-new Audi A6 sports a chrome finished hexagonal grille on the front along with electrically adjustable body-colored ORVMs. On the backside, it houses dual exhausts and a chrome stripe connecting the taillamps. The premium luxury sedan gets an all-LED lighting setup including headlamps, side indicators, and taillamps. Furthermore, it runs on 19-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels and has a wheelbase of 2,912mm.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the five-seater 2019 Audi A6 sports a blacked-out cabin with chrome accents on dashboard and steering wheel. The luxury sedan gets a 12.3-inch Audi's virtual cockpit and an all-new MMI infotainment panel with connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, it gets a panoramic sunroof with ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, and wireless charging support.
Power and performance
The new-generation Audi A6 is offered in mild hybrid 3.0-liter V6 petrol and 3.0-litre diesel engine options. The former is capable of producing 335bhp of power and 500Nm of maximum torque, while the latter churns out 282bhp and 620Nm. The petrol unit is mated to a seven-speed S Tronic gearbox, while the diesel mill gets an eight-speed automatic tiptronic transmission.
2019 Audi A6: On the road
The latest Audi A6 comes equipped with disc brakes on both front and rear wheels along with ABS, EBD, and traction control for better road handling. For additional safety, the sedan packs six airbags and an engine immobilizer system. Moreover, it gets 37 driver assist systems which come in the form of three different packages including tour assist, park assist, and city assist.
Finally, what about pricing?
In India, the current-generation Audi A6 is priced around Rs. 50 lakh. However, considering the upgrades, we expect this new model to arrive at a premium over the current model. Once launched, it will lock horns with rivals like BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class.
